Ellis Cook MCF-2


The Cook family has a proud and lengthy history in this nation. So I was surprised that this first Cook ancestor to arrive took his turn as a whale scout. When the first settlers arrived in America, they had to work together to survive. It did not matter whether they were a merchant, farmer, or preacher; all had to share in the duties of the colony. Ellis Cook was no exception. Most became farmers initially, even if they had never farmed before. But none had been whalers or fishermen in England.
