Lutheran Denominations and Associations NAC-150

Although I am no longer Lutheran, it is still very much part of my DNA and those of Norwegian descent. So, I was astonished when I discovered that the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) was only one of about forty Lutheran denominations and associations in America today. Yes, I knew about the Missouri Synod and Wisconsin Synod, but nearly forty others! This was even after so many mergers over the last century. Granted, some are very small, and a few may even be defunct over the last decade.
