The Allis Family MC No. 98

                The Allis family most likely had its origins in Alizay, Normandy, France, two hours northwest of Paris. Like several other ancestors, Sir William Alis undoubtedly accompanied William the Conqueror in the invasion of England in 1066. Thirty years later, his brother, Geoffrey Alis, went to the Holy Lands during the Crusades with William’s brother, Robert, Duke of Normandy. Sir William was taken captive with nine other knights in a battle near Yvery, Normandy. I could not find what his fate was.
