The Bassetts MCF-3


When Dawn and I visited the recreated Plimoth Plantation, we asked one of the women who were in character for the times of the early Pilgrims whether William Bassett was there. To our surprise, she immediately knew whom we were talking about and said, "If he be about somewhere, he is usually find making charcoal." We know William was a blacksmith by trade, so that made sense. We were informed that we had just missed him when we got there. The experience gave us chills as if we had been transported back four hundred years and could have met him in person.
